Invite someone from outside

A guest is somebody without a DealJourney account — a customer, a supplier, a freelancer — invited into specific conversations and nothing else.

  1. 1Open the channel you want them in.
  2. 2Invite them by email address as a guest.
  3. 3They receive a link that signs them in.

What a guest sees. Only the conversations they were invited to. No sidebar, no customer list, no deals, no other channels — there is no CRM shell around it at all. So a guest cannot stumble into your pipeline, and you do not have to think carefully about what they might click.

What they still see is everything written in that conversation, including what was written before they arrived. Check the history before inviting someone into a long-running channel, or start a fresh one for them. This is the mistake worth avoiding: an internal channel about an account, opened up to the customer on that account.

Their link is their credential. It is exchanged for a session the first time they use it and taken out of the address bar, so it does not linger in their browser history. Treat the invitation email as private.

When a guest's session expires, they are told to reopen their invitation email. There is no self-serve way for them to get back in, so if the email is gone, send them a new invitation.

Guests do not count as users. They do not consume a seat on your plan.

For sharing a project rather than a conversation, there is a separate guest view with the plan and tasks in it: Give a client a view of their project
