Channels

Creating one. Name it after the thing it is about, not the people in it — people change, the subject does not. Under Opprett i you pick the Seksjon: Hvor denne kanalen ligger i sidepanelet for alle.

Organising the sidebar. Ny kategori makes a category — Informasjon, Feil og ønsker… — and Dra kanaler hit to fill it. Flytt opp, Flytt ned and Gi nytt navn do the rest. Channels with no category sit under Kanaler.

Legg til i favoritter pins the handful you are in every day to the top. Bare uleste collapses the sidebar to what actually needs you, and Ingen uleste kanaler is the empty state worth aiming for.

Deciding how loud a channel is. Kanalinnstillinger → Varsler:

• Alle meldinger — for the few you genuinely need live.
• Kun omtaler — the right default for most.
• Ingenting — for a channel you read when you choose to.

Demp kanal goes further: Dempede kanaler vises ikke i uleste-telleren.

Automated posts have their own switch — Statusendringer på saker og andre automatiske oppdateringer legges inn i kanalen. Velg om de skal telle som uleste her, eller følg din egen standard fra Innstillinger. — so a channel that receives status updates can stay quiet without silencing the people in it.

Reading and re-reading. Merk som lest, Merk som ulest and Merk som ulest herfra let you park a conversation for later honestly, instead of leaving it unread and hoping. Use Gå til dato to get back to a specific day, and Fest melding for the message people will keep asking about.

Finishing with a channel. Arkiver kanal takes it out of the sidebar and keeps the history searchable. It shows as Arkivert. Archive rather than delete — the reasoning in an old channel is usually worth more than the tidiness.

Members. {{count}} medlemmer is shown in the header, along with {{count}} medlemmer · {{viewing}} leser dette nå. Channel owners can Gjør til kanaladmin so more than one person can manage it.
