Notes and the transcript in a call
The panel beside a call has five tabs: Chat, Oppgaver, Spør, Notater and Referat. Signed in, there is a sixth, Dealy, your private copilot (Dealy as your private copilot in a call). Everything in them belongs to the call you are in, and the ones worth knowing about here are notes and the transcript.
Notes are yours alone. Write one and press Lagre notat. It joins a list, stamped with the time, and the other person never sees it. Take as many as you like during one call: four short ones as things come up, or a single long one at the end.
A saved note lands on the CRM. If the call is attached to a customer, contact, opportunity or lead, the note is also written to that record's timeline as a note, exactly as if you had typed it there. A note on a contact already shows on their company's timeline, so it reaches both without being written twice. Notes taken in a call that is not attached to anything stay on the meeting only, until you link it.
Link a call to a record afterwards. A call you started from the chat or a plain link is not attached to anything. Open it later under Dine siste samtaler on the call insights page, or from its entry in your calendar, and press Koble til en kunde, kontakt, avtale eller lead. Search for the customer, contact, deal or lead and pick it. The call then shows on that record with everything said in it, the notes you took in the call are copied onto the record's timeline as if you had taken them there, and the call's calendar entry is linked to the same record. The saved call then says Koblet til with the record's name, which opens it. A call already linked to a record stays with that record.
The line under each note says where it went. While it still says Lagrer… the note is in flight; på tidslinjen means the CRM copy exists.
Editing or deleting a note follows it to the timeline. Change the wording and the timeline entry changes with it. Delete the note and the timeline entry goes too, so there is never a stale copy on a customer nobody can find.
Turn a note into an action item. The tick icon on a note copies its first line into Oppgaver, which both of you can see and tick off. The note itself stays private; only that line crosses over.
If you are not signed in — a guest who joined from an invite link — notes stay in your own browser and the panel says so. There is no account to save them to.
The transcript. Open Referat and press Start. When you are signed in, DealJourney transcribes both voices itself, yours and the other person's, whatever browser they use: they don't need to switch anything on, and a guest on Safari or Firefox is transcribed as well. Words show up while they are being said, in grey, and each line is finished about half a second after the person pauses. In a browser that cannot stream audio, lines come in batches a few seconds after they are spoken instead.
Transcription also runs when nobody else has joined, so you can start a call on your own, press Start and see how it hears you before inviting anyone. It keeps running until you stop it or the call ends. A guest who is not signed in and starts the transcript on their own gets the browser's own live captions, which need Chrome or Edge and only cover their own microphone.
Languages are detected automatically. Each person is transcribed in the language they actually speak, so a call in Norwegian and Swedish comes out in Norwegian and Swedish, with nobody having to set anything. The transcription expects Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and English, and an English product name inside a Norwegian sentence stays as it was said. When lines come in batches instead (see above), DealJourney listens to each person for the first few sentences, and once one language clearly wins it sticks to it for the rest of the call, so a strong dialect no longer drifts into Danish, Swedish or English a line at a time. The host can see what was picked: right-click that person's video, or tap the small ... button in its bottom corner, and it shows under Språk som snakkes as "Detected: Norwegian". Oppdag på nytt forgets it and listens afresh, which is also what to press if someone switches language for good partway through. If the words still come out in the wrong language, pick the right one in the same list: a language someone picks always wins over the detected one. Both sides use the choice straight away, and Oppdag automatisk puts it back to listening. A guest can set only their own language, from their own video.
Names come out spelled right. The transcription is told the names that are likely to come up in the call: your company, both people in it, the customer, deal or contact the call is linked to, with that customer's contacts, and the customers your workspace works with most recently. A call that is not linked to anything still gets the customer's names: a guest whose name matches a contact in DealJourney, or who was invited from the calendar with an email you have on a contact, brings their company and its people with them. So those names are written the way they are in DealJourney rather than guessed from the sound. The language picker in Referat is the language you read in: it is what the other side is translated into, and what the browser's own captions listen for when nobody has set your language.
Make one person louder or quieter. The same menu on the other person's video has a Volum slider from 0% to 200%. It only changes how loud they are on your device; they hear nothing different. Both the language, the detected language and the volume are remembered if you refresh during the call.
The other person is told. The moment transcription starts, everyone else on the call gets a chime and a card explaining that speech is being turned into text and saved, and the indicator stays on screen for as long as it is running. Nobody is transcribed without being told.
Live or tidied, your pick. The top of Referat has two views. Direkte, the default, shows the words the moment they are heard, rough edges and all. Formatert shows the same words with punctuation and capitals added, which can take about 15 seconds to appear. The tidy-up never changes the words, and a line it cannot handle is shown exactly as it was heard. DealJourney remembers which view you use, and the pop-out window follows the same choice.
Who said what, and when. A run of lines from the same speaker is joined into one paragraph under their name, with the time it was said counted from when transcription started, for example 12:40. A long stretch from one person gets a fresh time every couple of minutes.
Search the transcript. Type a word into Søk i transkripsjonen above the transcript. Every place it was said is highlighted, the box counts the matches, and the arrows (or Enter and Shift+Enter) jump to the next and previous one. It searches the view you have open, Direkte or Formatert, translations included. The same search is on the saved call afterwards, wherever you open its record.
The other side in your language. Press Oversett at the top of Referat, and the other person's words are translated into your language right under the original, a moment after they appear. A Norwegian talking to a Dane reads the Dane in Norwegian. Your own words are never translated. Press it again to turn it off.
Read it next to the chat, not instead of it. The panel shows one tab at a time, so use Åpne transkripsjonen i et eget vindu in the transcript header. The transcript opens in a small window that keeps updating live, which leaves the panel free for the chat or your notes. Close the window to put it back. If nothing appears, your browser blocked the pop-up and you need to allow pop-ups for DealJourney.
Everything survives the call. Chat, action items, questions, the transcript and your notes are all written to the meeting record as the call goes on, so closing the tab does not lose them. If you refresh the page, lose your connection or open the same call link again, the chat, transcript, action items and questions come back on screen after a moment, each line once. This works when you are signed in and were in the call; a guest without an account starts with an empty panel.
