Tasks

A task is a piece of work someone has to do. It has an owner, a Status, a Prioritet and a Frist, and it can hang off a Prosjekt, a ticket or a Kunde.

Task versus activity. This is the distinction worth getting right.

  • An activity records contact with somebody — a call, a meeting, an email. It answers *what happened with this customer*. See Activities.
  • A task is internal work. "Write the proposal", "chase the missing purchase order", "set up their test account". It answers *who owes what, by when*, and nobody outside the company need ever know it existed.

Booking a follow-up call is an activity. Preparing for it is a task.

Task versus checklist. A checklist is a list of ticks inside one activity, used to make sure a standard job is done the same way twice. A task stands on its own, can be assigned to somebody else, and shows up in their queue. See Use a checklist on an activity.

Where they show up: the Oppgaver tab inside a project, on the ticket they belong to, and in the standalone task list where you can see everything across the company at once.

Statuses are Å gjøre, Pågår, Blokkert, Fullført and Avbrutt. Blokkert is worth using honestly — it is the one that makes a stalled job visible instead of quietly late.

Hours are logged against tasks, not stored in them: Log hours
