Tasks that repeat

Some work comes round on the calendar rather than because something happened: the monthly report, the quarterly review, the annual renewal check. Gjentakende oppgaver is a rule that creates those tasks for you.

  1. 1Open Gjentakende oppgaver.
  2. 2Create a rule and give it the title and description the generated tasks should carry.
  3. 3Set the schedule.
  4. 4Set who the created tasks are assigned to, and their Prioritet.
  5. 5Optionally add conditions so the rule only applies to some records — the same condition builder used by workflow rules, so any custom field you have defined can be used here.
  6. 6Turn the rule on.

Why conditions matter. A rule with no conditions fires for everything. "Create a check-in task every month for customers on the premium plan" is a useful rule; "create a check-in task every month for all 4,000 customers" is a way to make the task list worthless. Narrow it first.

A rule is not the tasks. Turning a rule off stops future tasks being created; the ones already generated stay where they are, because they are real work somebody may already be part-way through. Delete those individually if you genuinely do not want them.

Recurring task versus workflow rule. A recurring task fires on the *calendar*. A workflow rule fires on an *event* — a stage change, a new ticket, a status moving. If the trigger is "when X happens" rather than "every month", build it there instead: Create a workflow rule
