Quote just part of a message

Why. When someone writes a long message and you answer one point in it, quoting the whole thing leaves them guessing which point you mean. Quote only the sentence you are answering and there is no doubt.

On a computer. Highlight the words you want inside a message, the same way you would select text anywhere. A Citér markeringen button appears just above the highlight. Click it and only those words sit above your message box as the quote, with the name of the person who wrote them. Write your answer and send as usual. This works in a channel, in a direct message and in a thread.

A highlight that runs across two messages does not offer the button, because the quote would put one person's name on someone else's words.

On a phone. Press and hold the message, then tap Markér tekst. The message opens on its own at the bottom of the screen, where you can select text the way you normally do on your phone: drag the handles to cover the part you want. Then tap Citér markeringen. Citér hele beskeden is there too if you change your mind. While the text is selected, your phone's own Copy works as well, so this is also how you copy just part of a message.

Changing your mind. The quote above the message box has a cross that removes it. Nothing is sent until you send it.
