Call a colleague

Calling someone rings them. A card appears on their screen wherever they are in DealJourney, with your name and photo, the ringtone they chose in Choose your call sound and how you join calls, and Besvar / Afvis. They do not have to be reading chat, and nothing is posted in the conversation.

If they are already in a call in the same browser, the card still appears in their other tabs but without the ringtone, with a note that they are in a call, so a second call never rings over the one they are having. You are not told they are busy; to you it rings until they answer, decline, or it rings out.

This is different from starting a huddle, which opens a room and posts a join link for everyone in the channel. Use a call to reach one person now; use a huddle when you want whoever is around to drop in.

Calling from a direct message. Open the conversation and use Start et opkald in the header, then Lydopkald or Videoopkald. Audio is the same call with your camera off, and you can turn it on at any point.

Calling from a channel. A channel call is for one named person, so the same menu offers Ring til en person. Pick them from the list and it rings only them. The audio and video entries above them still start the old link-based huddle for the whole channel, and a live one keeps showing Huddle i gang to everybody.

Calling from inside a call. Once you are on a call, the control bar has Ring til en kollega. Search, pick a face, and they are rung into the room you are already sitting in.

While it rings. You see a small card with their photo and Ringer…, and a button to hang up. Three things can happen:

• They answer: the card disappears and they arrive on the call.
• They decline: the card says so and clears itself.
• Nobody picks up: after about forty seconds it gives up with Intet svar. If the call came from a channel, a missed call note is left in that conversation, so the call is not simply invisible to the person who missed it.

A call reaches one person at a time. The call itself is between two people, so ringing a whole channel at once is deliberately not offered. The third person to answer would arrive in a room that cannot hold them. To get several people together, start a huddle and let them join the link.

If your colleague never sees the card. They have to be signed in to DealJourney with a tab open; a ring is not an email or a push notification and it does not wait for them. A call that rings out is gone after forty seconds and has to be placed again.

When everyone else has left. A call does not end just because the other person hung up; the room waits for them in case they come back. Once you have been on your own for a few seconds, a card says Du er den eneste tilbage with a countdown from ten minutes. Press Bliv i opkaldet and it goes away, then asks again after another ten minutes alone, for as long as you stay. The card stays until you press one of its buttons or someone comes back; clicking elsewhere in the call does not count as an answer. If nobody answers, the call ends exactly as if you had hung up, and Dealy's wrap-up is written as usual. Afslut nu ends it straight away. Someone knocking in the waiting room means you are not alone, so the card does not appear while they wait. Waiting in a call nobody has joined yet works the same way: after ten minutes the card says Ingen andre er kommet med endnu.

Nothing runs while you are alone, except transcription you started. Dealy's live suggestions, reading a shared screen and recording pause a few seconds after the last other person leaves, and pick up again by themselves when someone comes back. Transcription keeps going if you turned it on, because pressing Start means you want it, and that is also how to try it out on your own. It only uses credits while someone is talking, so a quiet room costs nothing. Stop it from Referat when you no longer want it. Dealy's panel, its summary and tasks, the wrap-up and asking Dealy a question all keep working. Once the call has ended you can stay on the page reading it for as long as you like; nothing is recorded or sent any more.

A call whose computer died. A call that nobody hung up, because a laptop died or a tab was closed, is ended by itself once no one has been in it for ten minutes. It ends at the last moment someone was still there. A long, quiet screen share with people present is never ended this way.

The call keeps its real length. The saved call ends when the last other person left, not when you finally closed the room. Sitting alone for an hour afterwards does not turn a twenty-minute conversation into an eighty-minute one, on the call record or in your calendar.

Every call is kept in your calendar. When a video call ends, it is added to your DealJourney calendar from when the other person joined to when the conversation ended, titled after who you spoke to, for example "Video call with Andreas". It is a record of a meeting that already happened, so it stays in DealJourney and is not sent to Outlook or Google. Its description has a link that opens the call record, with the transcript, notes and Dealy's wrap-up. Calls that were already on a calendar event, and huddles in a channel, are not added a second time. A call where nobody else ever joined is not added at all. If the call is linked to a customer, contact, deal or lead, so is the calendar entry (Notes and the transcript in a call).
