Direct messages and mention groups

A direct message is a conversation with one person, started from their name anywhere in chat. Add more people and it becomes a small private conversation.

Finding your direct messages. They sit near the top of the chat list, under Direkte beskeder, right below your favourites and above every channel section. Conversations nobody has written in for a while fold behind a row at the bottom of that section that shows the older ones.

Direct message or channel? If someone joining the company next year would benefit from reading it, it belongs in a channel. Decisions made in DMs are invisible to everyone else and have to be explained again later. DMs are for the things that genuinely concern only those people.

Seeing who is around. Presence is shown on every avatar. Aktiv means Bruger DealJourney lige nu – hvor som helst i appen, ikke kun i chatten. — note that this is anywhere in DealJourney, not just in chat, so it is a fair signal of whether a question will get answered now. Away is DealJourney er åben, men urørt i nogle minutter. Deres kort viser præcis hvor længe. A red dot, Optaget, means the person is in a meeting on their calendar right now. It wins over every other state, even offline, because someone who logs on in the middle of a meeting is still not free. Only meetings and demos count, cancelled and all-day entries do not, and nobody sees what the meeting is about, only that the person is busy and until when.

Seeing who someone is. Rest the pointer on a person's picture or name in a conversation and a profile card opens: their photo, job title and department, the company they work for, any status they have set, and whether they are around right now. Select Hvad betyder det? on the card to see what each presence colour means. Job title and department come from the person's own profile, so they only appear once that person has filled them in.

Mention groups. Rather than typing five names, make a group with a handle that notifies all of them.

2. 2Give it a Gruppenavn, a handle and optionally a Beskrivelse (valgfrit).
3. 3Tilføj nogen … to fill it.
4. 4Opret.

Then one mention reaches the group, and it stays right as people join and leave — which the five names in your head do not. Kun gruppens opretter eller en administrator kan gøre det applies to editing it.

A name that is not a mention notifies nobody. If you type someone's name as plain text, chat tells you: Ikke en omtale — Det her er ren tekst, så ingen får besked. Vælg hvem du mente: Pick the person from the list, or they will never know you wrote it.
