Knowledge base

The knowledge base is where your company writes down what it knows — processes, definitions, product detail, how you do things. It is organised as collections holding sections holding articles.

Dealy searches it before answering. That is the point of it. A rule written here is a rule the assistant applies for everyone: if your company counts anything that is not an advert as a project, or requires sign-off over a certain amount, an article saying so means colleagues get that answer without anyone having to remember it.

Knowledge base versus Dealy settings. Both teach the assistant, and the difference is who they apply to:

  • Your Dealy settings are personal. What you write there shapes your own conversations and nobody else's.
  • A knowledge base article is company-wide and permanent. It applies to every colleague and outlives you being here.

If you find yourself explaining the same thing to Dealy every session, that belongs in settings. If you find yourself explaining the same thing to *colleagues*, that belongs here.

It also feeds customer-facing answers. Articles can be used by the support chatbot, so an article may be read by a customer rather than only by staff. Write accordingly, and keep genuinely internal notes in a collection that is not published.
