Create a subscription
- 1Open Subscriptions from the sidebar.
- 2Click Add Subscription.
- 3Choose the customer.
- 4Choose the product the subscription is based on. Only products marked as a Main Subscription Tier appear here — if the one you want is missing, that flag is why. See "Add a product".
- 5Set the start date and the agreement period. The Renewal Date follows from these: Start Date + Agreement Period
- 6Confirm the price. It defaults from the catalogue; change it here if this customer agreed something different, rather than editing the product.
- 7Set Auto Renewal according to what was actually agreed.
- 8Save.
Starting from the won deal is better. When an opportunity is marked won, the subscription can be created from it, carrying the customer, the products and the agreed prices across. Doing it that way keeps the deal and the billing agreement connected, so the revenue traces back to the sale that produced it.
Add-ons and extras attach to an existing subscription rather than becoming subscriptions of their own. A customer with one agreement and three add-ons should be one subscription, not four.
