Dashboard
The dashboard is the page you land on, under Dashboard. It is built from widgets — small panels showing one thing each: a number, a chart, a list of records needing attention.
It is the only place a number reliably gets seen. A report somebody has to remember to open is a report nobody opens. If a figure should change what the team does this week, it belongs here, not in a saved report or an email.
Widgets read live from your CRM and respect your permissions, so two colleagues looking at the same dashboard can legitimately see different totals — each sees their own records if that is what their access allows. A number that disagrees with a colleague's is usually this rather than a fault.
Keep it short. A dashboard with thirty widgets is scrolled past. The useful version answers a small number of questions you genuinely act on: what needs doing today, what is at risk, how the month is tracking.
Dashboards can be arranged per person, and an administrator can set up a shared starting layout so new colleagues get something sensible rather than an empty page. See "Change what your dashboard shows".
