Email templates
An email template is a reusable message with placeholders in it, so the same email can be sent to many people with each one's own details filled in. Templates live under Templates in the sidebar.
Every template has a category — Sales, Follow-up, Meeting Invite, Onboarding and the rest. The category is not just a label for tidiness: it decides which templates DealJourney offers first in a given situation, so writing from a meeting puts the meeting templates at the top.
The placeholders are called merge fields, and they are what makes a template worth having. They are written as {{customer.company_name}}, {{contact.first_name}} and so on, and are replaced with the real values when the message is sent. See "Merge fields in templates".
Templates are shared across the company, so editing one changes it for everyone. If you want your own variation, copy the template and edit the copy rather than reshaping the shared one.
