Build your own sidebar menus

The standard sidebar is a starting point, not a fixed thing. The menu builder lets you reorder it, hide what your company does not use, group items under your own headings, add links to pages outside DealJourney — and then hand different menus to different people.

Building a menu

  1. 1Open the menu builder in the admin area.
  2. 2Start from the standard menu (recommended — you then only remove what you do not need), from an empty menu, or from a copy of one you already made.
  3. 3Add pages. Søk etter sider... finds them, and Ingen side passer. tells you when nothing matches.
  4. 4For a page with tabs, set Åpner påHvilken fane siden åpner på. Leave it on Sidens standard or send people straight to the tab they actually use.
  5. 5Add headings to group items, and drag to reorder. Items can be promoted to the top level or nested under a heading.
  6. 6Save.

Handing it to the right people. A menu is assigned to roles, teams or named individuals. The panel resolves the rule and tells you who will actually receive it before you commit — which is the check worth doing, since "everyone" and "nobody" are both one mis-click away.

Menus are not permissions. Removing a page from the sidebar does not stop anyone reaching it: they can still type the address, and search will still find it. If the point is that they must not open it, set that on the access page and use the menu only to tidy up: Control who can open what.

Used the other way round, this is exactly what makes a big workspace usable — a warehouse team that sees six items instead of forty is faster, even though nothing was actually locked.

The phone is separate. Each person arranges their own bottom bar: Using DealJourney on your phone
