Share contribution credit on a deal
When contribution splits are enabled for your workspace, open a deal and find People on its overview.
- 1Choose Add person and select an active workspace member.
- 2Enter each person's percentage. Changes save automatically.
- 3Adding someone starts their share at zero; it does not change anyone else's share.
Any remainder below 100% is shown as Unassigned. Removing a person does not increase the remaining people's percentages.
Without a saved split, the deal's owner receives the credit. Reassigning the deal updates that default; it does not rewrite a split you have explicitly saved. See Link a customer and contact to an opportunity for changing the owner.
Someone leaving does not erase their contribution. Their saved name and share remain if their membership is deactivated or removed, or their account is deleted. You can still edit the percentages, remove their contribution, and add active colleagues. Keeping historical credit does not restore workspace access.
Names are preserved from when this protection was introduced. If an account was already deleted before its name was saved, the original name may be unavailable.
Choose a role when adding someone
The right-hand People widget combines assignees, colleagues with roles, and credited contributors in one list. Search for a colleague with Add person, then choose the role they have on this opportunity. Choose Create new role if it is missing; the new role stays available throughout this workspace's opportunity role list.
A person's role is specific to this opportunity. Adding the same person in another role keeps one row and one percentage. Changing the deal owner does not transfer credit already assigned to someone else. Required roles must remain filled. Customer pages are unchanged.
Workspaces that turn off splits still use this list for people and roles, with percentages hidden. Existing shares are preserved while splits are off.
