Prices, VAT and margin
Price and cost. Pris is what the customer pays. Kostpris is what it costs you — Indkøbs-/kostpris — and it is optional, but without it margin cannot be worked out. Beregnes automatisk fra pris og kostpris
VAT. Each product carries a Momskode, and that code is what decides the tax applied wherever the product is used. Setting it on the product rather than per quote is deliberate: it means the rate is right by default, including for products that are exempt or zero-rated, without asking whoever builds the quote to remember.
Changing a price does not rewrite history. Quote lines and subscriptions already created keep the price they were created with — which is correct, because a customer who signed at last year's price is paying last year's price. A new price applies to what you build after the change. If an existing agreement is meant to move to the new rate, that is a change to the subscription, not to the catalogue.
Discounts belong on the line, not on the product. When a customer negotiates a lower price, adjust the price on that quote line. Editing the catalogue changes the product for everybody and for every future quote, and one customer's negotiation quietly becomes your new list price.
A recurring product's price is per interval. Vælg hvor ofte dette tilbagevendende produkt faktureres. Prisen ovenfor gælder pr. interval. A monthly product priced at 1,000 is 1,000 a month, not 1,000 a year — worth checking, because the mistake looks identical on the screen and is out by a factor of twelve in every revenue figure.
