Before you can buy anything from DealJourney, we need to know who you legally are. That lives under Admin in Fakturering, in the section called Dina faktureringsuppgifter hos DealJourney.

  1. 1Open Admin from the sidebar.
  2. 2Go to Fakturering.
  3. 3Leave Samma som företagsuppgifterna on if we should invoice the company in your company profile, which is almost always the case. Its name, address and country are shown, with Ändra företagsuppgifter to change them in Set your company details.
  4. 4Enter the email address invoices should be sent to.
  5. 5If you are a business outside Denmark, press Verifiera to check your VAT number.
  6. 6Press Spara faktureringsuppgifter.

When we should invoice a different company

Switch Samma som företagsuppgifterna off, for example when a parent company pays. You then fill in the registered company name, country, address, registration number and VAT number here, and changes to your company profile no longer affect them.

Workspaces that had already entered different billing details before the two were linked keep them, with the switch off, so nothing on your invoices changed by itself.

We can only invoice companies in Norway, Sweden, Denmark or the United Kingdom. If your company profile names another country, the page says so; switch the link off and enter billing details in one of those countries.

Why the country field matters so much

Your country decides how tax is handled, and there is no way for us to guess it. DealJourney ApS is a Danish company, so Denmark is home and everywhere else counts as abroad:

  • Denmark. We charge Danish moms at the standard rate.
  • Norway, Sweden or the United Kingdom, as a business with a verified VAT number. No VAT is added. You account for it yourself in your own return, and the invoice says so. This applies to Norwegian companies too, which surprises people: you are not charged Danish moms.
  • Norway, Sweden or the United Kingdom without a verified VAT number. We cannot treat you as a business, so we cannot complete the sale.

If something is missing, the page says exactly what to add and you will not be able to check out until it is filled in. That is deliberate: a purchase with the wrong tax on it has to be corrected with a credit note afterwards, which is worse for everyone than being stopped up front.

Verifying is a separate step from saving

Typing a VAT number saves it. It does not prove it. Pressing Verifiera checks the number against the official register for that country and shows the registered company name back to you when it matches.

  • If it says the number is not registered, check it against your own records. A common cause is using a company registration number where a VAT number is expected; in several countries these are related but not identical.
  • If it says the tax authority did not respond, nothing is wrong with your number. Those services do go down. Your details are saved, so try Verifiera again in a few minutes.
  • If you change the number, it goes back to unverified and needs checking again. The old check says nothing about the new number.

Your invoices are listed on the same page once you have made a purchase. See Find and download the invoices DealJourney sends you.
