Start a document from a built-in template

Press Nytt dokument. It asks one question at a time, and you can step back at any point.

1. 1⟦Hva slags dokument?⟧ Pick Ferdig utformet for a contract you write and they read, or Interaktivt if they should type into it as they go.
2. 2⟦Hva skal det starte fra?⟧ Choose Fra mal.
3. 3⟦Hvilken mal?⟧ Pick one of the five built-in drafts, or anything your company has saved.

The document is created straight away, named after what you started from. Rename it at the top of the editor.

What each built-in draft gives you

• ⟦Salgskontrakt⟧: scope, a price table, payment and delivery terms, warranty, intellectual property, a liability cap, confidentiality, data protection, term and governing law.
• ⟦Arbeidsavtale⟧: role, place of work, start date, probation, salary and pay day, working hours, holiday, pension, notice, and the rest of what an employment contract has to state in writing.
• ⟦Taushetserklæring⟧: a mutual confidentiality agreement, so both sides are covered by the same terms.
• ⟦Partneravtale⟧: reseller and referral terms, including commission, territory and how leads are registered.
• ⟦Oppstartsskjema⟧: a form the client fills in themselves rather than a contract you write.

If you genuinely want to start from nothing, choose Tomt at the second step instead. That gives you an empty page and nothing else.

What to change first

Each contract opens with a short block of key terms near the top: start date, length, notice period, payment terms. These are the values that differ from one deal to the next, so they are fields rather than sentences buried in a clause. Fill those in and most of the document is already correct.

After that, read it through. These drafts are written for Norwegian law and are a starting point, not legal advice. Check the wording against how your company actually works before you send it.

Keeping your own version

Once you have a draft you are happy with, use Lagre som mal to keep it. It then appears under Lagret av selskapet ditt the next time anyone starts a document. You can also install the built-in drafts as editable templates in one go: open Maler and press Legg til startmaler.
