Create a calendar event
- 1Open Calendar from the sidebar.
- 2Click the slot you want, or start a new event. Create a new calendar event
- 3Give it a title and set the time, or tick all-day.
- 4Add the people from the customer side under Linked contacts. Use Add contact and pick them from your CRM. If the person is not there yet, Create new contact does it without leaving the event.
- 5Add colleagues who should attend.
- 6Set Private meeting if the details should not be visible to the rest of the team. See "Private meetings".
- 7Press Create.Link the contacts rather than typing names into the title. A linked
contact puts the meeting on that person's record and on their company's history, which is what makes it findable later by someone who was not there. A name in the title is invisible to everything.
Moving an event is a drag to the new slot, in any view. See Move a meeting by dragging it.
Deleting asks for confirmation: "{{title}}" will be permanently deleted. If it's synced to your Google or Outlook calendar, it will be removed there too. For a repeating event you are asked whether you mean this occurrence or the series ("{{title}}" is a recurring event. Deleting it removes the entire series. If it's synced to your Google or Outlook calendar, the whole series is removed there too.), so read that prompt rather than clicking through it.
With a mailbox connected, events you create here appear in your real calendar too.
Choose the kind of calendar event. Under Type, choose Meeting, Call, Demo, Follow-up, Deadline, Reminder or Other. The kind is saved with the event and can be changed when you edit it. Meeting also offers the video call controls. A calendar reminder does not create an activity or project task. Colours still follow the calendar's colour setting, and its source filters continue to distinguish calendar events from activities, hours and emails.
A video call without Teams or Google Meet. Switch on Add a DealJourney video call (with Dealy) to give the meeting its own DealJourney call link, even with no calendar connected: Meet in a DealJourney video call from a booking or calendar event
With Dealy. Give Dealy the date, time, customer and any meeting link. Approve the proposed meeting to save it in DealJourney. A timed meeting appears in its time slot; it does not need a separate activity. Dealy can correct the time or link on an internal meeting after another approval. Dealy's calendar tool does not send invitations or create external calendar entries. To change a synced meeting, open it and use Edit Event.
Click a meeting in the calendar to see its times, join link and linked CRM record and contacts. Use Edit Event from the details to edit it. See Link a meeting to a customer, person, lead or deal for changing the CRM connection.
