Invite people to a meeting
There are two kinds of people on an event, and they behave differently.
Colleagues are added as attendees. The meeting appears on their calendar, and everyone can see the clash before it happens.
Customer-side people are added under Tilknyttede kontakter, using Tilføj kontakt to pick them from your CRM. This is the one that matters for the CRM: a linked contact puts the meeting on that person's record and on their company's history.
If the person you are meeting is not in the CRM yet, Opret ny kontakt adds them from inside the event rather than making you go and create them first. You need at least a name or an email: Angiv et navn eller en e-mail.
Linking can happen for you. Where a contact is recognised from the event, DealJourney links them automatically (auto); otherwise link them by hand (manuel). Worth a glance, because Ingen kontakter tilknyttet endnu on a customer meeting means it will not show up on anyone's record.
Invitations going out. With your mailbox connected, invitations are sent and responses come back through your own calendar account, exactly as if you had booked it there. Without a connected mailbox the event exists in DealJourney but nobody outside is told about it, so if a customer says they never got an invite, check the connection first.
Write the invitation once and reuse it
If your company always words an invitation the same way, save it as an email template under the Meeting Invite category, in the advanced template editor. Then, on the meeting itself:
- 1Pick it in Invitationsskabelon. On the full editor that sits under Sted og detaljer; in the quick Opret begivenhed window it sits under Beskrivelse.
- 2Press Brug til dette møde.
The picker only appears once someone has saved a meeting template, so a company that words every invitation by hand never sees it.
The meeting's own subject line and description are filled in from the template, with the date, time, place and attendees merged in. That matters because the invitation your attendees receive is built from those two fields. Outlook and Google send it from the meeting itself, so wording the template is how you change what they read. Edit the text afterwards if you want; it is now just the meeting's own text.
Applying again after you move the meeting re-fills the date and time. It overwrites what is currently in those fields, so it offers an undo.
The date is written in the template's language. Set it with Sprog in the template editor, and a Norwegian invitation reads "fredag 7. august 2026" even when the person sending it has DealJourney in English. Set the language a template is written in
If something could not be filled in, DealJourney says so by name. A template written for a customer contact can ask for things a particular meeting does not have - a company, a person, a deal. Those parts are left out rather than sent as {{ }} placeholders, and a message names which ones, so you can type them in before you send.
To avoid it in the first place, book the meeting from the customer, the lead or the deal it is about, and invite the person by picking them from your contacts rather than typing their address. That is how DealJourney knows who {{contact.first_name}} refers to.
⟦E-mailinvitationer⟧ is separate and optional. That switch sends an additional email from DealJourney alongside the calendar invitation. Leave it off if the calendar invitation is enough.
