Private meetings

Colleagues can see each other's calendars, which is what makes finding a free slot possible. Marking a meeting private keeps the slot visible while hiding what it is.

⟦Privat møde⟧ on an event does exactly this: Andre ser tidspunktet som optaget, men kan ikke se titlen eller detaljerne.

To others it appears as Privat møde, with the explanation Dette møde er privat. Kun arrangøren og deltagerne kan se detaljerne.

So a private meeting still does its main job — nobody double-books you — without revealing that you are meeting a competitor, a candidate, or your doctor.

Why you might see ⟦Privat⟧ on a colleague's calendar. Nothing is broken and they have not hidden something from you personally. Either they marked that meeting private, or their account is set to make meetings private by default, which some people prefer. You can still see they are busy, which is all you need in order to schedule around them.

Privacy travels with the event. A meeting marked private here keeps that setting in your connected Outlook or Google calendar, and a meeting marked private there arrives private here. You do not have to remember which side you created it on.

It hides details, not existence. Private is not invisible. If a meeting genuinely must not appear at all, it does not belong on a work calendar that colleagues can see.
