Set up your pipeline stages
Pipeline stages are the columns your opportunities move through, and they are yours to define. DealJourney does not impose a fixed set.
Stages are managed in the pipeline builder, reached from the pipeline view on Opportunities. There you can add stages, rename them, reorder them, and set each one's win probability.
The win probability is per stage and applies to every deal in that column: Win probability for this stage, applied to every deal in this column. Set it in the pipeline builder. It is what turns a list of open deals into a weighted forecast, so guessing at it undermines every forecast number downstream.
Name stages after what has happened, not how you feel. "Quote sent" and "Contract out for signature" are checkable; "Hot" and "Likely" are not, and two people will grade the same deal differently.
Deals in a stage that no longer exists. If you delete or rename a stage while opportunities are sitting in it, they end up with a stage that has no column: These deals have a stage that isn't in your pipeline setup, so they have no column of their own. Drag one onto a stage to move it, or add the stage in Pipeline builder. They are not lost, but they are out of the board, and therefore out of sight, until someone moves them. Check for deals in a stage before removing it.
