Set your billing details and verify your VAT number
Before you can buy anything from DealJourney, we need to know who you legally are. That lives under Admin in ⟦Virksomhedsprofil⟧, in the section called ⟦Dine faktureringsoplysninger hos DealJourney⟧.
- 1Open Admin from the sidebar.
- 2Go to ⟦Virksomhedsprofil⟧ and scroll to ⟦Dine faktureringsoplysninger hos DealJourney⟧.
- 3Fill in your registered company name, country, street address, postal code and city, and the address invoices should be sent to.
- 4If you are a business outside Denmark, enter your VAT number and press ⟦Bekræft⟧.
- 5Press ⟦Gem faktureringsoplysninger⟧.
This is not the same as your company profile
The fields higher up the same page are what *you* put on the documents *you* send *your* customers. These ones are what *we* put on the invoices we send *you*. They often hold the same thing, and they are two separate records, so filling in one does not fill in the other.
Why the country field matters so much
Your country decides how tax is handled, and there is no way for us to guess it. DealJourney ApS is a Danish company, so Denmark is home and everywhere else counts as abroad:
- Denmark. We charge Danish moms at the standard rate.
- Norway, Sweden or the United Kingdom, as a business with a verified VAT number. No VAT is added. You account for it yourself in your own return, and the invoice says so. This applies to Norwegian companies too, which surprises people: you are not charged Danish moms.
- Norway, Sweden or the United Kingdom without a verified VAT number. We cannot treat you as a business, so we cannot complete the sale.
If something is missing, the page says exactly what to add and you will not be able to check out until it is filled in. That is deliberate: a purchase with the wrong tax on it has to be corrected with a credit note afterwards, which is worse for everyone than being stopped up front.
Verifying is a separate step from saving
Typing a VAT number saves it. It does not prove it. Pressing ⟦Bekræft⟧ checks the number against the official register for that country and shows the registered company name back to you when it matches.
- If it says the number is not registered, check it against your own records. A common cause is using a company registration number where a VAT number is expected; in several countries these are related but not identical.
- If it says the tax authority did not respond, nothing is wrong with your number. Those services do go down. Your details are saved, so try ⟦Bekræft⟧ again in a few minutes.
- If you change the number, it goes back to unverified and needs checking again. The old check says nothing about the new number.
Your invoices are listed on the same page once you have made a purchase. See Find and download the invoices DealJourney sends you.
