What Dealy can do for you
Dealy is meant to do the work, not describe it. If you ask it to create something, it creates it. Asking it "how do I add a contact" gets you the steps; telling it "add Jane Holm at NordicTech as a contact" gets you the contact.
The things it is genuinely good at:
- Finding and reading — pull up a record, summarise what has happened with a customer, tell you what is overdue, find the people at a company.
- Creating and updating — customers, contacts, leads, opportunities, activities, notes and subscriptions, including in batches.
- Moving deals along — change a stage, mark an opportunity won, convert a lead into a customer and an opportunity.
- Building things you would otherwise build by hand — a saved view, a custom report, a custom field, a workflow automation.
- Writing — draft an email reply, write up a call, write knowledge base articles.
- Explaining DealJourney — how a feature works and where to find it, from the official documentation rather than from guesswork.
- Researching companies — public web research on a prospect or market, in research mode.
Worth knowing:
- Start from the suggestions. An empty Dealy chat shows a rotating set of things it can do, with the ones that fit the page you are on pinned at the top. Picking one writes the request into the box for you, so you can edit it before sending.
- Ask for the outcome, not the instructions. "Filter opportunities to project 1980 and save it as a view" is a better request than "how do I filter opportunities".
- Attach the record you mean. If you are looking at a customer, Dealy knows that is the one you mean, so "add a note here" works.
- It will ask when the answer changes what it does — which of two same-named customers, what the report should measure. It should not ask for permission to start.
