Complete company details for native accounting exports

Available on all plansHow-toOpen in DealJourney

Open Company details in native accounting settings. Enter Organisation number, Legal company name, Contact first name and Contact last name. Add the address and contact information as applicable. Use Save company details. Incomplete details can be saved and completed later, but export remains unavailable until required identity facts are present.

The native accounting export currently supports Norwegian company identity, NOK and a calendar accounting year. A workspace's display name is not treated as its legal company name.

Choose Go to export to inspect saved readiness. Missing facts are listed beside Open company details, which returns directly to the editor. Saved company identity is complete for export means the identity fields are complete; it does not certify accounting balances, tax treatment or statutory acceptance of an export. Review the selected date range and underlying accounts separately.

If another person changes company details while you are editing, saving refuses to overwrite them. Use Reload saved details to replace your unsaved form with the latest saved values, review the difference and then save again. Repeating the same successful save is safe even if its first response was lost.

An unavailable settings read is shown as an error with Try again, rather than appearing as a new company with empty details.

Native accounting also respects your role's accounting-page access. A role with no access cannot read native accounting through its APIs, and a view-only role cannot save or post changes. Existing developer availability remains a separate restriction. The shareholder register follows its Boardrooms ownership permissions rather than accounting-page permissions. Approval assignment and separation-of-duties checks still apply in addition to page access.

In accounting settings, use Enter opening balances to bring reviewed starting balances into the native ledger. Enter Opening date and Source trial balance reference from the original trial balance. This manual workflow supports NOK. It does not import payroll histories or create asset-register entries, and it sends no invoices or payments.

Enter each other account as one Debit or Credit total. For customer control account 1500 and supplier control account 2400, enter each outstanding invoice, credit or prepayment separately, using its remaining amount at the opening date rather than its original full amount. Select Customer or supplier, enter Original document reference and Original document date, and retain the due date when known. Do not also enter an aggregate total for those control accounts: the individual items make that total.

Choose Review opening. Compare every account total and named outstanding item with the original records. Debits and credits must balance exactly; the preview does not invent a balancing amount or recalculate tax on original invoices. If the workspace already has ledger entries, verify that these starts do not duplicate their amounts. Use Edit details to correct details or Post reviewed opening after review. If the books changed meanwhile, preview again. Retrying the same completed request returns the original voucher.

Find the resulting outstanding items and their original references/dates in the workflow described in Review, approve and book native accounting purchases. Review the control-account reconciliation against the source totals. Only one active opening import is supported: to replace it, undo any allocations first and use the normal reasoned voucher correction. A replacement cannot precede the earlier correction. Keep original supporting records with the source reference.

Confirm Country code explicitly. Leaving it blank keeps the country unknown when saving incomplete company details and prevents export readiness; it does not silently select Norway. This flow currently supports Norwegian companies.

A role with view-only accounting access can read company details, outstanding balances, history and budget comparisons. The company, opening, period-lock, budget and outstanding-balance actions require write access and are unavailable to viewers. The API enforces these grants independently of the buttons.

Account creation, activation and export-code edits require current accounting write access. Account lists and open drafts are isolated by workspace. Failed tax-code reads offer retry before account creation, and unsaved financial forms are not restored from local browser storage.

An account needs a number and name, and its default tax code must exist. An account with posted entries keeps its tax-account classification; use a separate account for a different classification. Deactivation keeps the posted history.

Use Paste opening rows to bring account totals from a spreadsheet into the draft. Paste three semicolon- or tab-separated columns: account number, debit and credit, without headers. One side must be positive and the other blank or zero. Decimal commas are accepted; malformed amounts, unknown/inactive accounts and extra columns reject the whole paste with the line number. The preview preserves exact cents. Add rows to draft appends the reviewed rows and keeps previously entered rows. Repeated customer/supplier account rows remain separate so you can fill in each invoice.

Add or clear pasted text before reviewing the full opening. Complete party, invoice reference and dates for customer/supplier rows, then use the existing server review and posting confirmation. Pasting does not post anything or choose parties automatically.

Typed opening amounts also accept decimal commas. The draft shows exact debit, credit and difference before server review. Incomplete rows are named; no row is silently removed. Review requires active accounts, one positive side per row, balanced totals and complete party/document facts on customer or supplier balances. The server still validates dates, references, permissions and accounting eligibility.

Repeated ordinary account totals and repeated company/invoice references are flagged with both row numbers before review. Combine ordinary totals yourself or correct the invoice identity; the editor does not merge documentary evidence automatically. Different invoices or different companies remain separate control-account items. The server performs the authoritative duplicate check again.

The accounting overview includes Prepare your accounting workspace. Start with company identity, then follow Review dated VAT setup, Review the chart of accounts, Review opening balances and Reconcile outstanding invoices. VAT setup status reflects whether dated facts have been saved; it does not claim that every reporting period is covered. The remaining links are review steps, not automatic completion checkmarks. See Review VAT return versions and changed figures for dated tax facts and Review, approve and book native accounting purchases for outstanding invoice review.

Setup links bring the requested company, opening-balance or VAT-registration section into view after its surrounding content loads. Keyboard focus moves to that section so you can continue with its controls.

When creating an account, explicitly choose Normal balance using Choose debit or credit. No balance side is preselected. An identical create retry confirms matching saved details without adding another account or changing whether it is active. If the saved details differ, review the account before continuing; creation never overwrites them. The form keeps your entries after a failed or unconfirmed response. The account list previews creation immediately and restores its previous state if the request fails. Account exports wait for a successful, completed refresh.
