Send a questionnaire
- 1Open the questionnaire and choose to send it.
- 2Add a recipient — search for the customer by company name, or enter a name and email address directly for somebody not in your CRM.
- 3Optionally set an expiry. Leaving it blank means the link never expires.
- 4Send.
Each recipient gets their own link. It is unguessable and specific to them, which is what lets the answers land on the right record without anybody logging in. It also means you cannot post one link to a group — everybody would appear as the same respondent.
Set an expiry on anything time-bound. A scoping questionnaire answered four months late is worse than no answer, because somebody will act on it. An expiry also gives you a reason to follow up.
Send it to the person who knows the answers, not to your main contact out of politeness. A questionnaire forwarded internally three times usually comes back half-finished or not at all.
Nothing is lost if they stop halfway. Answers autosave as they go, and the same link resumes where they left off — so "I did most of it on the train and finished it later" works.
When somebody says the link does not work, check the expiry first, then whether they are using the link sent to a colleague. Send a fresh one rather than debugging theirs; it takes seconds.
Watch who has not started. The response list distinguishes not-opened from part-finished, and those two need different nudges — the first is a reminder, the second is usually a question they got stuck on.
