Build a questionnaire
Open Spørgeskemaer, create a questionnaire, and you land in the builder.
- 1Add a section for each group of related questions. Sections become the steps the recipient walks through.
- 2Add questions to each section, choosing a type: Question types.
- 3Give a question help text where the wording alone is not enough.
- 4Mark the ones that are genuinely required.
- 5Rehearse it in the preview, including moving between steps, validation, reviewing answers and the completion screen. The preview stores no responses. Its narrow layout lets you check how the form reads on a phone.
Sections are what make a long questionnaire survivable. Twenty questions on one page reads as work; the same twenty in four steps of five reads as progress. Name the sections after what they are about, so the recipient can see where they are.
Required means required. Every mandatory question is a place the person can get stuck and give up — particularly if it asks for something they have to go and look up. Mark as required only what you genuinely cannot proceed without, and let the rest be optional.
Help text prevents the worst answers. "What is your budget?" gets a range of interpretations; the same question with a line explaining what it is for and in what currency gets a usable number.
There is AI help for a first draft — describe what you are trying to find out and it generates a starting set of questions. Treat it as a draft: it will cheerfully produce fifteen questions when six would do.
Answer it yourself, on a phone. The preview is not optional. Half the recipients will use a phone, and a question that reads fine on your monitor can be unanswerable there.
Reuse your work. The questionnaire action menu has Dupliker, which creates an independent draft with the same questions, options and branding. It never copies recipients or responses. Individual questions can also be copied from their action menu. Sections can be reordered with their menu as well as dragging.
Saving is visible. Text edits save automatically. If saving fails, keep the builder open and retry the save; your pending edits remain available. Leaving while changes are unsaved asks for confirmation. Publishing waits for saving to finish and checks that questions have titles, choice questions have usable options, and the form contains something people can answer.
Publishing preserves existing responses. Each invitation keeps its published version. Editing and republishing prepares the next invitations; it does not rewrite questions that earlier recipients are already answering. People with viewing permission can preview the form and read results, but cannot edit, publish or send it.
Ask follow-up questions only when relevant. Use Vis dette afsnit or Vis dette spørgsmål to depend on an earlier answer. Choose the earlier question, a comparison and, where needed, the matching answer. Conditions can check whether an answer exists, compare a value, or check whether a multiple-choice answer includes a choice. Hidden required questions do not block submission. Changing an earlier answer also updates progress and the review, and hidden answers are excluded from the final submission. Publishing checks for broken conditions after questions have been moved or removed. Duplicating a questionnaire keeps its conditions connected to the copied questions.
Know when answers arrive. Completion notifications are enabled by default for the questionnaire creator and can be disabled in the questionnaire's settings. Respondents can view their completed answers and print or save a copy from the confirmation screen while their link remains valid.
