Find companies like one of your customers

Your best customer is the clearest description anyone has of the next one. On any company customer, open the Foretaksdata tab and use Find similar companies.

What happens. The public register is asked what this company actually does, where it is and what it turns over. Those answers become a Prospect Finder search, and you land on ProspectFinder avansert søk with the filters already filled in and the first results on screen.

What the search is built on. Three things, and a banner at the top of the results says which of them were available:

  • The industry group the register puts this company in. Not the industry typed on the customer card, which is free text and is filled in on very few customers. The group rather than the exact code, so a bookkeeper and an accountancy practice count as the same kind of company.
  • The country the company is registered in. Keeping the list in one market also keeps it in one currency, which is what makes the next filter mean anything.
  • A turnover band around this customer's own. Wide on purpose. A precise industry next to a precise revenue band is the quickest way to Ingen bedrifter funnet, so the search starts loose and you tighten it.

What it deliberately does not do. It does not pin the search to the same town or region. "Like this one" is about what a company is, not where it sits, and a small municipality plus an industry code usually returns nothing. Add Stedsfiltre yourself if you want it, then search again.

When nothing comes back. If the customer has no organisation number there is nothing to match against, so add one first. If the register has a record but says nothing about what the company does or what it earns, there is no way to find others like it, and you are told so rather than shown a directory.

Then work the list normally - select what you want and bring it in as leads: Import companies and contacts as leads.
