Put any field from any record into a contract template

A contract template can print any field your CRM holds. In the template editor, the Dynamiska fält list on the left ends with Alla fält på alla poster: every record type in your workspace, including record types your company created, each with all of its standard and custom fields. Open a record type or search, then click a field to insert it where your cursor is in the contract text.

A field made just for contracts. Add a custom field to the record type it belongs to and fill it in on your records. It appears in the list straight away, with no change to the template or any setting.

Which record a value comes from. A contract is generated from an opportunity, so:

• opportunity fields come from that opportunity;
• customer and contact fields come from the opportunity's customer and contact;
• any other record type uses the record linked to the opportunity, or else the one linked to its customer, or else the one linked to its contact. When several are linked, the most recently updated one is used.

A record counts as linked when it points at the opportunity, customer or contact, either directly (a project or invoice on that customer) or through a relation field.

Blank values. A field with no value, or a record you do not have access to, prints as nothing rather than as a placeholder. Values are copied when the contract is generated, so a later change to the record needs the contract generated again. Check the preview under Välj kontraktsmall before sending: Email the offer to the customer.

Numbers in front of section headings. Each text section prints its heading with its position, such as "1. Terms". To print the heading on its own, open the Innehåll tab and untick Numrera sektionsrubriker, then save the template. The setting belongs to the template, and the offer and its PDF follow it the same way. It is useful when your first section repeats the document title.

The currency on every price line. By default each unit price, discount, offer price and line total in the product table ends with the currency, which is the same word four times on every row and leaves the product text little room. Untick Visa valutan på varje rad under Dokumentinställningar to print the lines as plain figures. The totals underneath always keep the currency, so the offer still says which money it is in, and the page the customer opens and the PDF they download follow the template together.
