Build a calling list from the map
- 1Open Karta from the sidebar.
- 2Filter first if you only want part of your records — a customer type, an owner, a status. Selecting an area then applies on top of that filter rather than pulling in everything on the map.
- 3Draw a shape around the area you want. Everything inside it is selected.
- 4Work with the selection: assign the records to a colleague, or use them as the list to call through.
This is how you split a region between the team without arguing over postcodes — draw the area, assign it, and the boundary is a shape everyone can see rather than a rule everyone remembers differently.
Check the count before assigning. A shape drawn a little wide can be several hundred records, and assigning is a bulk change across all of them. Look at how many are selected first.
The selection is what is on the map. Records with no usable address were never plotted, so they cannot be selected — which means a map-based assignment can quietly miss customers in exactly the area you were dividing up. If completeness matters, cross-check with a filtered list on a postcode field.
Log the outcomes as activities as the list is worked through. A calling list that leaves no record behind produces the same list again next quarter with nobody able to say who was already called and what they said.
