Arrange and resize what is on a tab

While ⟦Redigera layout⟧ is on, a tab is a grid. Dra och ändra storlek på fält, spara sedan layouten för den här fliken.

Move and resize

  • Move. Drag a block by its grip. Everything else on the grid moves out of the way and settles upwards, so you cannot leave a hole in the middle of the tab.
  • Resize. Drag the bottom-right corner. Width is what matters most: two half-width blocks sit side by side, a full-width one takes the row to itself.
  • Undo. ⟦Ångra⟧ - Gå ett steg tillbaka. It steps back one change at a time, as far as the start of this editing session.

Work top down, in the order somebody reads the record: the handful of fields they check first at the top, the long panels underneath.

Use the whole page

A tab you built to carry the fields people need has no use for the record panel on the left repeating them. Turn on ⟦Använd hela bredden⟧: Döljer postpanelen till vänster medan den här fliken är öppen. The panel comes back on every other tab, and it is a property of this tab rather than a personal setting.

It takes effect the moment you press it, still in edit mode, so you arrange the tab at the width people will actually read it at. Because ⟦Redigera layout⟧ lives in the panel this hides, it moves up beside the tabs for as long as the panel is away, and that is also where ⟦Avsluta redigering⟧ is.

Anyone can also fold that panel away for themselves with ⟦Dölj postpanelen⟧ beside the tabs, and bring it back with ⟦Visa postpanelen⟧.

Tablet and phone

Screens are not the same shape, so a tab is not laid out the same way on all three:

  • On ⟦Dator⟧ you get the full grid, exactly as you arranged it.
  • On ⟦Surfplatta⟧ the same arrangement is narrowed. Blocks keep their order and their relative widths, and anything too wide for the narrower grid takes a full row.
  • On ⟦Mobil⟧ everything is one column. På mobil staplas panelerna uppifrån och ner, i den ordning de ligger i skrivbordsrutnätet. So the reading order on a phone follows the desktop layout, top row first and left to right within a row: another reason to build the tab in the order people read it.

Keep a panel off small screens

A wide table that is genuinely useful on a laptop can be unreadable on a phone. Every panel decides for itself where it appears: open the panel's ⟦Panelinställningar⟧ and, under ⟦Visa den här panelen på⟧, switch off the screens it does not belong on.

A panel must be left on at least one screen, so you cannot accidentally make one invisible everywhere. To remove it altogether, delete it from the tab instead.

Fields and groups are not part of this. They are compact enough to be worth having everywhere, so they always come through to the phone layout.
