See what was changed on a record, by whom and when

Every time a field on a customer, contact or deal changes, DealJourney keeps what it said before, what it says now, who changed it and when. That covers standard fields and your own custom fields, whether the change was made on the record, inline in a list, as a bulk update, or by a connected system such as your accounting integration. Nothing has to be switched on.

Look at the history

1. 1Open the customer, contact or deal.
2. 2Choose the History tab, at the end of the tab bar.
3. 3The Change history lists the newest changes first, grouped by day. Each entry shows the field, the old value and the new one, who made the change, and when. Hover the time to see the exact date.
4. 4To find one field, type its name in Filter by field.
5. 5Choose Load older changes at the bottom to go further back.

When a field "changed by itself"

A change nobody made by hand is marked Automatic and names what made it: your accounting integration's sync, an Automation rule, the Public API, or the AI connector. It is never recorded under a colleague's name, even when that colleague pressed the button that started the sync or saved the change that set the automation off. So if a value changed and nobody remembers doing it, the history tells you which system did.

When a record has both kinds of change, switch between All, People and Automatic at the top of the history.

Put an old value back

Copy the old value from the history and type it into the field again. The correction is recorded too, so the history shows both the mistake and the fix.

Things to know

• History starts from when this feature was switched on for your workspace. Changes made before that were not recorded.
• You only see the history of records you are allowed to open.
• If the History tab is missing, it may have been hidden in the layout. Add a tab to a record page
